What is the Mix + Match Range?
Being a brand founded by a dermal facialist, we’re as passionate about customisation as facialists are, and our Mix + Match range is your way to tailor your skincare routine to your skin. A pinch of this, a dash of this, a Sally micro-mask and every time you do your regime, you’re essentially doing a mini treatment on yourself.
(And while we’re talking about it, Skin Veg and Skin Protein work fabulously as a mask too – mix a pump of each together and let it sit on your skin before makeup for a special occasion.)
The Mix + Match range is the part of the Skingredients range which tackles your specific skin concern.
The Core 4 might have you scratching your head, but it couldn’t be simpler. You have your cleanser, hydrator, serum, and SPF, in that order. You don’t have to use the full Core 4 together – if Skin Veg is your jam, slap it in there with your other favourites. It won’t fight, we promise.
Things don’t end with the Core 4, however. The Mix + Match range is formulated for specific skincare needs, and it currently contains a mixture of three big, beautiful products to pick and choose – you don’t need all of them, just like you don’t need every one of the Core 4 products in one go.
What Is The Mix + Match Range?
The Mix + Match Range (so far) contains:
Skin Good Fats – our soothing, nourishing night cream and moisturiser
Sally Cleanse – a breakout-blasting exfoliating treatment cleanser, a mask, and a spot-zapper
AHA Cleanse – a hydrating, mildly exfoliating treatment cleanser (back later in 2020)
We’ve got a big soft spot for all of them, and each of them is helpful in addressing a different skincare concern.
What’s The Purpose Of Mix + Match?
If the Core 4 is your bread-and-butter, full dinner plate for the skin, then where does mixing and matching come in? Well, the fact is we are well aware that skin needs pretty much the same basic nutrients, vitamins and ingredients for the foundation of skin health, but we are also aware that some skin needs an extra bit of TLC.
And so, the Mix + Match range! Acknowledgement that not all skin was created equal, but it was indeed created to be cared for and fed!
We are also very on board with folks mixing their own beloved products into their skincare regime – if you have a holy grail product, then we support and salute you! We’re all ears actually – do let us know what your top product is, we always like to know what’s important to you.
Skin Good Fats
Who is Skin Good Fats for?
- Skin Good Fats is a night-time moisturiser, ideal for replenishing fats in the skin. It soothes, hydrates and moisturises skin.
- While we say that it’s a night moisturiser, it’s possible to use during the day as well. Apply one pump of Skin Good Fats to your skin after your serums, and massage it in. If you’re using it in the morning, be sure to apply your SPF afterwards!
- Skin Good Fats contains the patented anti-itch ingredient, ceramide NP, which helps to soothe skin which might be feeling very rough, raw, or irritated. It’s suitable for use on dehydrated skin, anywhere on the body, but it’s particularly suited to the face. You can read more about the mightiness of good fats for your skin in our blog on the subject!
Who is Sally Cleanse for?
Sally Cleanse is the knight in shining, blue armour to any hooman in need of a helping hand for lots of skin concerns, including, but not limited to:
- Keratosis pilaris
- Enlarged pores
- Uneven skin texture
Having congested skin, or skin which is a bit more oily, is definitely not the end of the world. These two things usually go hand-in-hand, in fact. Sally is particularly well-loved by teens, and can be ideal for brides getting ready to show off their arms, who might be rocking a bit of keratosis pilaris.
You can use it where you need it – just be careful in the shower not to get too adventurous with your rinsing, and keep it away from areas that it should avoid (we reckon you can figure these ones out yourself).
Sally Cleanse can also be used as a micro-mask and a spot treatment, too, making it a triple threat – one of the reasons we love it so much.
Sally packs a punch, with her 2% salicylic formulation, so you should only use it once per week as part of your evening routine to begin with, and work up to every second night when you’ve grown accustomed to her.
You can add a couple of drops of Sally Cleanse to your PrePro for a milder exfoliating cleanse, or on a night where you need a boost on top of your once-every-2-nights Sally Cleanse too.
Although AHA Cleanse is taking a brief hiatus, it will be rejoining us before we know it!
AHA is a lactic acid exfoliating cleanser, which you can use every day in the evening! It’s formulated to brighten and hydrate your skin, as well as exfoliating and cleansing your skin all in one go.
How To Add the Mix + Match Range To Your Routine
When it comes to the Mix + Match range, they’re the bits of your routine which slot in around your basics. They can take the place of your usual cleanser, sometimes, and you might in fact find that for certain months or on certain occasions you need Skin Good Fats way more than other times. This is how they work!
When it comes to cleansing, Sally Cleanse is ideal for slotting into your routine every second night. It should only be used in the evening-time, as salicylic acid (like all beta-hydroxy acids) increases your skin’s photosensitivity. You will still need to wear a broad-spectrum SPF during the day anyway, but that’s a given.
AHA Cleanse can be used every night in the place of your daily moisturiser! Use PreProbiotic Cleanse or your cleanser of choice in the morning, and use AHA Cleanse in the evening, pre-cleansing with the Cleanse Off Mitt as usual.
For Skin Good Fats, this product slips in between your serums and your SPF during your daytime routine – and it should be the last product that you use in the evening time.
Mix it, match it, swap it in and out as you like. The Mix + Match range supports the Core 4, or your pre-existing skincare regime by focussing on certain concerns, and tackling them head-on.
If you think of the Core 4 as your balanced dinner plate, the Mix + Match is a bit like the seasoning for your skin’s meal… The part that makes the recipe your recipe. The Moist-Maker in your Thanksgiving sandwich, if you’re a Friends fan.
