Why Skingredients launched eye pads and a sheet mask - and why ours are different

So when Skingredients was weighing up the benefits of launching into the masking category, we understood the importance of doing it intentionally and with performance in mind. Because there's a formula to hydrating your skin with instant and lasting effects. More than a self-care moment, this hydrating duo bring the kind of visible results you get only from products that are steeped in science. But like all our products, we've simplified the usability, so they are fast, easy to use and zero-fuss.

Why we created them

As skin experts, we see the same pattern repeatedly: People are over-exfoliating, overloading actives and under-supporting hydration. 

When skin lacks water, fine lines look more visible, makeup sits poorly, and skin appears dull and tired. In the long-term, barrier function weakens, and skin becomes less resilient overall. 

This proves that hydration isn’t optional; it’s foundational and that’s why we created products designed to work with the skin barrier - not simply sit on the surface giving temporary glow. 

 

Why ours are different

We prioritised ingredients

Rather than building these formulas around trendy ingredients alone, we focused on ingredients with proven hydration-supporting functions. 

Glycerine is the hero

 You’ll notice both launches centre around glycerine. Why? Because despite being less “social media famous” than hyaluronic acid, glycerine remains one of the most clinically respected humectants in skincare. 

Glycerine draws water into the skin, helps retain moisture, supports softness and suppleness, improves overall skin comfort and supports barrier function. 

Hydration isn’t just about adding water temporarily. It’s about helping skin hold onto it more effectively. 

We selected arbutin for the eye pads

The under eye area has very specific needs, including: 

• Thin skin
• Increased dehydration
• Puffiness
• Pigmentation concerns
• Fatigue

We selected arbutin as it helps to brighten the appearance of the under-eye area, improve uneven tone and reduce the look of pigmentation and darkness. Arbutin helps visibly brighten the under-eye area by targeting excess melanin production, while its calming properties help reduce the appearance of post-inflammatory pigmentation and uneven skin tone. This ingredient is combined with niacinamide to support barrier function and brighten dullness and glycerine to hydrate and smooth. 

The result - under-eyes that look fresher, brighter and more rested - whether you slept eight hours or not.

How to apply correctly 

• Use the spatula (included) to separate the pads
• Apply the wider end towards the outer eye if you'd like to target crow's feet
• Prefer more inner eye brightening? Flip them around and position the wider section towards the inner corner.

The flexible hydrogel design allows you to customise placement based on your concern. We also love that they are discreet enough to wear whilst doing the school run, writing emails, making coffee...

 

Hydra-Hit Instant Facial Mask 

A Korean-made sheet mask saturated with 20ml of active serum to deeply hydrate and visibly revive skin. 

Powered by:

• Glycerine
• Niacinamide (vitamin B3)
• Panthenol (vitamin B5)
• A mineral rich seaweed extract

This formula was designed to: 

• Quickly hydrate
• Support the barrier
• Reduce visible dehydration
• Improve radiance
• Leave skin softer and smoother

Importantly, the lightweight mask substrate was chosen intentionally. We avoided heavy, overly saturated materials that slide around the face. Hydra-Hit was developed to sit comfortably on the skin while delivering all the performance benefits without the mess. 

And because we don’t waste good skincare, any remaining serum can be massaged into the neck, chest, arms or anywhere needing extra hydration.
